Bookcases often feel heavy, formal, and boxed in. The Alto bookcase is anything but that. The shelves appear to be floating between the two vertical structures. It is slanted at the front and straight at the rear. When viewed from the side, the negative space between the shelves provides a light and open feel to the piece.
